And shiva surveys his kingdom from this complex of 108 temples set(built in 734 A.D.) within a fortified complex here at kailashpuri. Bappa Rawal, the founder of Sisodia dynasty, spent a part of his childhood here and at the very place he and sage Harita Rishi discoursed is now the site for the main marble and granite temple. Built in the typical style with an ornate hall, a pyramidal roof and an entrance portico, all the Shiva attributes are at hand : the Nandi bull, among them, and a four-faced, granite image of shiva. Particularly crowded on Mondays, the temple opens only at fixed times for a glimpse of the idol in the sanctum sanctorum.
